MUSHIPAN

Mushipan is a Japanese steam cup cake/bread. To me it is like the steam sponge cake.

Steam Dan Kao(in chinese). I came across this name while surfing for a recipe last night
the name cought my eyes , so i  tried it out this morning. The recipe came from Chealsea's blog. I have doubled the recipe because the original recipe  yields 4 cupcakes only.( Not enough for us) hehe.

MUSHIPAN - A JAPANESE SWEET CORN STEAM CUPCAKE














Ingredients

200 g flour
50 g sugar
2 large eggs
100 ml water
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup sweetcorn kernels
2 tbsp corn oil

Methods

1. Line muffin tray with paper cups. Sieve flour and baking powder.
2. Heat up water in a steamer
3. Whisk sugar and eggs until pale in colour.
4. Alternately add in flour,sweet corn and water. Do not over mix it.
5. Lastly add in corn oil.
6. Spoon mixture into paper cups and steam for 10 minutes.





It only took me half an hour to to do this and i love the way the cake smile!!
